TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt employees volunteered to plant 1,000 mangrove trees in Marsa Alam as part of a CSR initiative

Cairo, September 15, 2025 – As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting sustainability efforts and environmental preservation, and in celebration of World Cleanup Day, TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt, (a Joint Venture between TotalEnergies Marketing Afrique and ADNOC Distribution) in collaboration with Misr El Kheir Foundation, has launched an integrated environmental initiative aimed at enhancing biodiversity and addressing the impacts of climate change. 20 employees from TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt participated in the cultivation of 1,000 mangrove trees and a beach cleanup activity in the city of Marsa Alam where our aviation fuel depot is located and as part of our commitment to supporting and giving back to the communities where we operate.

This initiative seeks to make a tangible contribution to protecting Egypt’s coastlines from erosion, restoring ecological balance in coastal areas, and engaging employees in meaningful environmental volunteering activities that promote a culture of social responsibility and environmental awareness.

This year, the initiative targets the planting of 1,000 mangrove trees in Marsa Alam, given their significant environmental role in enhancing vegetation cover, purifying water, providing a habitat for marine biodiversity, and playing a vital role in reducing carbon emissions. TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt affirms that this initiative is an extension of its strategy to support sustainable development and strengthen the concept of community partnership as a key pillar toward a greener and more sustainable future for Egypt.

This initiative builds on TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt’s previous environmental efforts. In 2024, our employees contributed to the cultivation of 170 mangrove trees along the coast of Safaga, one of the key mangrove habitats on Egypt’s Red Sea shoreline. This earlier endeavor reflects the company’s sustained commitment to preserving coastal ecosystems and promoting biodiversity through hands-on environmental action.

The partnership between TotalEnergies and Misr El Kheir Foundation serves as a model of strategic collaboration in supporting sustainable development efforts in Egypt. It has resulted in a number of impactful initiatives across various fields, with both parties continuing to work together to create tangible impact and improve the lives of the most vulnerable groups, driven by their deep commitment to social responsibility.
